Genre is a categorie of artistic, musical or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content. In film theory, it refers to the method based on similarities in the narrative elements from which films are constructed. Most theories of film genre are borrowed from literary genre criticism. Film genres often branch out into subgenres, as in the case of courtroom and trial-focused subgenre of drama known as legal drama.
In next paragraphs I will give an examples for different types of film genres so that I could show the audience how they are used in movies. To identify what genre is I must use generic convention so that I could promote the movie to the readers of the blog.
Lord Of The Rings is a fantasy movie. Fantasy is a genre of fiction that commonly uses magic and other supernaural phenomena as a primary plot element, theme or settings. Fantasy is most likeable to young audience. Like I said before motives can be educational and esspecially this movie can help the young public to develop their imagination and to explore such crusaids which have happened in the past/history. The first screenshot from the movie the audience can see key factors, like horses and knigts, which show that the movie implies to historical drama.Beside the long shot of the army which the director have taken, the weather has playing also an important role. The audience can see how the maroon colour gives the attention for a fight which again is a proof that the sub-genre of the movie is histoical drama. Similar to this movie are the TV series Game of Thrones, The Tudors and etc.
